Feature: Outlining
ProjectPipe allows you to treat anything in your project as an outline. Outlines are very useful for managing nested hierarchies of related items. ProjectPipe provides a number of useful outliner tools, including:
- Hoisting, or focusing just on one branch of the outline
- Moving nodes (and their children)
- Cloning, or duplicating nodes
- Easily creating child or sibling nodes for any given item
Flat List or Outline? You Decide
ProjectPipe makes it very easy to switch between the hierarchical Outline view, and the flat list or Table View. Both Views are useful in different contexts. Here is a list of Use Cases presented as an Outline:
Here is the same set of data presented as a flat list, or Table:

In both cases, you have the ability to select the columns that are visible through a simple drag-and-drop interface:
Adding and Moving Items
If you need to add a new item adjacent to an existing item in your outline, simply click "new" under the "actions" column, and you will be presented with this set of options for creating your new item:
If you need to move an item (and all of its child nodes), simply click on "move" in the "Actions" column, and the outline will create links for all of the possible places that you could move the item you selected.
