The whiteboard is a feature of the project hompage. Think of it as, ummm, a whiteboard for your project.
Except that you can receive an RSS update when somebody changes it. Or track changes via its audit history. Or view it anywhere in the world.
Try that with melamine and dry-erase markers :)
When you are first getting your team up and running, use the whiteboard to share notes about using ProjectPipe, such as:
- The import status of existing data
- IM or phone #s to call if teammates need a hand getting acclimated
- Subversion configuration instructions
- General notes about process, security, etc. relevant to your team
Going forward, it can be used as a simple data sharing tool, since it is the first screen that you see when logging into ProjectPipe. Advanced users can simply subscribe to the Whiteboard via RSS, and keep up with changes through their favorite newsreader.
